Kelly Clarkson is putting to rest the rumors about her alleged feud with Carrie Underwood once and for all; she also pointed out why netizens even pitted them against each other in the first place.

"People always pit us together," the "Since U Been Gone" singer said during her appearance in "Watch What Happens Live." "And we don't even know each other well enough to be pitted together."

Clarkson then continued, "Like literally, we've run into each other a handful of times. There's no beef between us. There's nothing between us, like, we don't know each other!"

In fact, Clarkson thought the beef rumors have already died down ages ago-after she invited Underwood to perform at "The Kelly Clarkson Show."

Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood Beef Because of Misogyny?

Clarkson and Underwood never even had an unpleasant interaction with each other; all the rumors about the feud are simply the fans' and the media's doing.

"I don't know why they do that," Clarkson said with frustration. "They don't do it with dudes! They only do it with females."

This is not the first time the singer has called out the misogyny in the music industry. When asked about powerful entertainment figures and their alleged sexual misconduct, she declared her stand in the matter.

"I'll call it out. Like if somebody asks me a question, I'm not gonna lie for you," she said. "I think that's the best thing to do ... not like you're attacking someone, just telling your honest story."

According to reports, the "Stronger" singer and Underwood's beef might be rooted in something else as well: "American Idol."

Clarkson became the very first winner of American Idol at the age of 20. Since then, she has enjoyed a successful and long career since her stint at the show in 2002.

On the other hand, the "When He Cheats" singer also won her season of "American Idol," and has since enjoyed a successful career as well.

Kelly Clarkson Shades Other Celebs

While Clarkson did clear up the confusion and addressed the longstanding rumor about her alleged feud with Underwood, a new rumor might arise because of her appearance on "WWHL."

During one of the show's segments, the singer was asked about nasty celebrity encounters, to which she simply gave a vague answer to.

"I will say a lot of them ended up on shows like the one I'm from," Clarkson replied, careful not to drop any names. "It's funny what money does."

The singer did not add anything more to that, and refused to name anyone from "shows like where [she's] from."
