Great news for Billie Eilish fans! The singer is finally releasing an original song this year and it would be a part of one of the biggest official soundtrack albums in movie history; find out all the details below.
According to Billboard, the 21-year-old artist is the latest addition to the string of musicians who would be contributing tracks for "Barbie the Album," the official album of Greta Gerwig's "Barbie the Movie" starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling.
In an Instagram post, the "Happier Than Ever" songstress shared a photo of the iconic "B" logo with the song's title, "What Was I Made For?"
In the caption, the singer revealed that the new song would be released on July 13 at 7 a.m. PT.

"We made this song for Barbie and it means the absolute world to me. This movie is gonna change your lives and hopefully the song will too," she added.
It appears that the track is completely different from what other artists like Nicki Minaj, Ice Spice, PinkPantheress, Charli XCX, and more have released as Eilish told her fans to "get ready to sob."
The latest song is the young singer's second release this year as she surprised fans in May with the cover version of Drake's "Hotline Bling."
'Barbie the Album' Release Date
Ever since the movie announced that they would be releasing an album featuring some of the biggest stars in the music industry, fans couldn't contain their excitement as they look forward to hearing all the songs that the film has to offer.
"Barbie the Album" would be released on July 21, 2023, the same day when the movie hit theaters.
Produced by Mark Ronson, the record will feature artists including Ava Max, Charli XCX, Dominic Fike, Dua Lipa, Fifty Fifty, Kali, Gayle, Haim, Karol G, Aldo Ranks, Khalid, Lizzo, Nicki Minaj, Ice Spice, Aqua, PinkPantheress, Ryan Gosling, Tame Impala, The Kid Laroi, and Billie Eilish.
After Eilish was revealed as one of the mystery artists who would appear in the movie, the record producer revealed in an interview that there will be one more surprise and he revealed some details behind the mysterious singer's identity.
"Obviously one of the f****** greatest living artists around but also had a very personal, idiosyncratic tie to Barbie as well," he said. (via Buzzing Pop)
