Taylor Swift is one of the biggest superstars right now, many laud her for her brilliant singer-songwriting talent and relentless stamina for performing, but is she really bigger and better than The Beatles, Michael Jackson, and Madonna?

The New York Times began what seems to be a never-ending debate among fans and netizens by writing that Swift has witnessed "a level of white-hot demand and media saturation not seen since the 1980s heyday of Michael Jackson and Madonna."

This much is seen in the massive success of her highly anticipated "The Eras" tour as well as in every new album that she releases, like "Speak Now (Taylor's Version)," "Midnights," and more.

In fact, even legendary singers, like Billy Joel, had this to say about the "Anti-Hero" singer, "The only thing I can compare it to is the phenomenon of Beatlemania."

Following the release of the report, fans and netizens took to social media to share their thoughts on the matter.

Taylor Swift V. Michael Jackson, Madonna

There is a mix of responses from fans and netizens alike on Twitter. One user wrote about the comparison: "Those are very bold statements. Taylor is smart and making the right moves. I like a couple of her songs but it's meh, like teen angst crap. Which is awesome for her core demographic but it's not all-encompassing."

They then went on to explain how Swift is not as prominent as Jackson, Madonna, Beyonce, and even Cyndi Lauper in the Dominican Republic.

While another wrote, "She has worked so hard and now she is on the biggest tour of our lifetime. Put some respect on her name for doing so many amazing things at such a young age. She is not Madonna nor Michael Jackson, she is Taylor swift. All massively successful artists in their own right."

"Michael and Madonna both brought something new and leveled up the game. Taylor is simply not. She may have same success level but she definitely doesn't have the stage presence required to compete with those legends," another added.

Taylor Swift V. The Beatles

Swift's success, in terms of impact, might be subjective to many, but when it comes to the statistics and music charts, Swift's music has seen unprecedented numbers.

According to reports, Swift is one of the very few artists who have all of her released albums on the Billboard 200 charts.

On top of that, all of her singles have managed to land somewhere in the top 10 of music charts, which puts her in the same league as The Beatles, Forbes magazine reported.
