Earlier this month, Lizzo was sued by three of her former backup dancers in a scathing sexual assault, hostile work environment lawsuit. The claims were also supported by several other people who worked with the Grammy-winning singer.

Now, it seemed like the tide had turned as she seemed to have received an unusual backing from a group of her own dancers - the Big Grrrls and the Big Boiiis.

Lizzo's Dancers Defend Her Against Lawsuit

In a statement shared by Pop Crave, a group of Lizzo's dancers, called Big Grrrls and Big Boiiis, defended the singer's honor amid the ongoing lawsuit against her and their dance captain, Shirlene Quigley.

"We have had the time of our lives on The Special Tour. We have been so honored to share the stage with such amazing talent. This tour experience has been beyond just #Special! The commitment to character and culture taking precedence over every movement and moment has been one of the Greatest lessons and blessings that we could possibly ask for," they said in a statement.

Elsewhere in the shared message between the two groups, they thanked Lizzo for "shattering limitations and kicking in the door" to make way for them and to do what they love.

They thanked the multiplatinum singer for creating a platform where they can parallel their passion with a purpose.

"Not only for Us, but for Women and All people breaking Barriers. We've been traveling and exploring new horizons of the world. So many advantages to prevailing over hardships that society and the entertainment and beauty industry can bring," they continue to say.

Despite accusations that Lizzo was weight-shaming her own dancers, the said group of dancers seemed to say otherwise, as they claimed that they're "grateful that the standards and existence of Beauty in THIS Team goes beyond the surface."

"Our collective gifts have authentically powered the type of energy, love and that support can physiologically help heal the world. We are a unit of unicorns, undeniably resilient and SPECIAL AF," they said in the statement.
