Madonna expressed how grateful she is to be alive after surviving the serious bacterial infection in June that left her hospitalized.

After her scary ICU admission, Madonna took her time to celebrate her birthday with her family in Lisbon. The pop singer, who turned 65, spent a day with her six children: Lourdes, Rocco, David, Mercy, Stella, and Estere.

Madonna "Grateful" To Be Alive

In an Instagram post following her birthday celebration, Madonna uploaded a montage of clips from her birthday celebrations and expressed how grateful she is to be alive.

"It's great to be Alive............ .. and Amazing to Be able to put on my dancing shoes and Celebrate my Birthday! Im So Grateful," she captioned the post. "Thank you Lisbon and to all who made it possible!"

She enjoyed a fun beach day with her children before having an extravagant birthday party at night.

Madonna is working on herself again as she prepares ahead of her rescheduled Celebration Tour after she postponed it due to her health scare. It was due to begin in Vancouver in July, but the leg will now start in London in October.

Madonna had to postpone the show following her hospitalization in June. According to her longtime manager Guy Oseary, the singer stayed in the ICU for days after developing a serious bacterial infection. He then assured everyone that she would have a full recovery after the worrying event.

Madonna's Celebration Tour New Dates

Before Madonna's 65th birthday, Live Nation unveiled the new dates for her Celebration Tour.

"Getting all shows rescheduled was the number one priority. Unfortunately, due to scheduling conflicts a few shows noted below will be canceled," Live Nation said. "Madonna regrets the inconvenience to fans and hopes to make it up to those markets in the future."
