With his sprawling five-decade career, Kris Kristofferson's net worth in 2023 maintains the $50 million mark despite not being active in the industry anymore.

Most of his fortunes came from his work as a musician, creating hit songs like "For the Good Times," "Help Me Make It Through the Night" and "Sunday Mornin' Coming Down."

He also became part of the band Highwaymen alongside Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, and Willie Nelson.

Aside from being a singer, Kristofferson expanded his career in the acting industry and starred in movies like "A Star is Born," "Lone Star," "Blume in Love" and "Blade" trilogy.

What Happened When He Retired in 2020?

In January 2021, Kristofferson confirmed that he retired from music a year prior after Morris Higham Management signed his estate for management representation, leaving his son John to lead their businesses.

According to a press release penned by John, they were planning to reintroduce Kristofferson's work through the changes.

"It's been amazing to dig into my dad's catalog and history with this seasoned group of professionals," he continued. "I can't imagine a better partnership to bring the full depth of his songwriting to a new generation."

Kris Kristofferson's Health Issues

Kristofferson's health woes contributed to his early retirement in 2020.

In 2013, he revealed to FOX411 that he had been suffering from memory loss for years due to the concussions he sustained during his athletic career when he was younger. However, he revealed to Rolling Stone in 2016 that his official diagnosis was Lyme disease.

Country Musician Marked Comeback Stage This Year

Although he has not released new material and held shows after retirement, he surprised everyone when he performed during his Highwaymen bandmate, Willie Nelson's 90th birthday celebration.

During his appearance, he received a standing ovation after singing "Lovin' Her Was Easier (Than Anything I'll Do Again)" with Rosanne Cash.
