In early August, Halle Bailey officially dropped her highly-anticipated solo single titled "Angel" and many fans have been wanting to know when she will release an album.

It appears that the singer is taking baby steps as she will not begin her solo music career journey with a full-length album she confirmed that it would be an EP, but when is it coming out?

The musician recently appeared on the cover of Cosmopolitan and in her interview, she revealed that fans should expect her new EP in a few months.

In the interview, the singer was asked to give a hint when the extended play is coming out, to which she replied, "Definitely before the end of the year."

As of this writing, Halle Bailey has yet to reveal the exact date when the project will come out. She also hasn't revealed the official title and tracklist of the EP.

Halle Bailey Solo Music Career

The recent news comes a month after Bailey finally gave fans a taste of her solo music with her debut solo single "Angel," a track that revolves around the genre of gospel with a hint of jazz.

Despite being a singer since she was a kid, the musician opened up that she was able to learn from her experience in the box office hit "The Little Mermaid" and her upcoming role as Nettie in the movie "The Color Purple."

"It's cool to learn things about life through their eyes. And all musical inspiration really just comes from life experiences. Love has been a really big one for me too, because that's something I'm experiencing for the first time," she said.

Halle Bailey Successful Box Office Career

The film adaptation of "The Color Purple" will be directed by Blitz Bazawule and will be released in theaters on December 25, 2023.

Aside from Bailey, other cast members include Taraji P. Henson, Fantasia Barrino, H.E.R., Danielle Brooks, and many more.

Earlier this year, the singer broke the internet as well as the box office after the release of the live-action adaptation of "The Little Mermaid" where she starred as the lead role of Ariel.

It was so big to the point that it grossed over a whopping $118 million during its opening weekend on Memorial Day this year.
