Olivia Rodrigo VMAs 2023

Olivia Rodrigo was added to the already star-studded lineup of performers at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards.

"I know you're ready for GUTS, but are you ready for this?? @OLIVIARODRIGO IS A 2023 #VMA PERFORMER You don't want to miss it: TUESDAY at 8p on @MTV!!" MTV announced in a post on Twitter/X.

The last time that Rodrigo graced the MTV VMAs stage was in 2021 when she performed "Good 4 U." It was a good year for Rodrigo back then as she took home the most wins with three mooonmans - Best New Artist, Push Artist, and Song of the Year.

Rodrigo joins a huge lineup of performers at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards, which includes Maneskin, Karol G, Demi Lovato, Annitta, Kelsea Ballerini, Lil Wayne, Stray Kids, Tomorrow x Together, and Doja Cat.

Diddy will also be performing this year as he receives the third Global Icon Award - joining Foo Fighters and Red Hot Chili Peppers - for his exemplary impact as a global artist in the rap and hip-hop scene.

Shakira will also be delivering an electrifying medley of her biggest hits as she is the first artist of South American descent to receive the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.

Rodrigo is nominated this year in five categories including Best Pop, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Song of the Year, and Video of the Year all for "Vampire."

Olivia Rodrigo 'Guts'

Rodrigo is releasing her highly-anticipated sophomore album, "Guts" at midnight, Sep. 8, 2023.

Rodrigo has expressed confidence in her upcoming new album. Speaking to The Guardian, Rodrigo had this to say:

"I was so green as to how the music industry worked, the litigious side ... I feel like now I know so much more about the industry and I just feel ... better equipped in that regard. It wasn't something I thought about too much."

Notably, Rodrigo's highly-acclaimed and award-winning debut album, "Sour," has faced legal issues with regard to sampling - she credited Taylor Swift and Hayley Williams after she sampled songs from "Lover," "Reputation" and "Riot!"
