The MTV Video Music Awards just announced that it will continue honoring the 50th Founding Anniversary of Hip-Hop with a special closing performance including rap giants in the upcoming telecast.

Nicki Minaj, who will be performing and hosting the show, will also be included in the said celebration.

2023 VMAs Special Hip-Hop Performance

According to MTV, selected Hip-Hop titans will be rapping to close out the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards.

Lil Wayne, who will also be performing earlier that day was tapped to perform, along with Darryl DMC McDaniels, Dough E. Fresh, and Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five. LL Cool J, after hosting last year's show with Nicki Minaj, will also be returning for the performance.

Hailed as the Queen of Rap by multiple publications, Nicki Minaj will complete the lineup for the special 2023 MTV VMAs Hip-Hop tribute performance.

In 2019, a similar Hip-Hop performance was also mounted by MTV to close out the show. Back then, Redman, Fetty Wap, Wyclef Jean, Naughty by Nature, and Queen Latifah performed.

A bunch of other rappers are also gracing the VMA stage, but they won't be performing on the special Hip-Hop tribute. Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion are performing their newest release "Bongos," while Boogie Wit da Hoodie, Future, and Metro Boomin are also performing as a group.

NLE Choppa and Kallii are also performing on the extended and the pre-show of the VMAs.

Additionally, Sean "Diddy" Combs will also be performing as he receives his Global Icon Award from MTV. He joins Red Hot Chili Peppers and Foo Fighters as the first two recipients of the said award.
