*NSYNC shocked fans by reuniting at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs); it even left Taylor Swift starstruck as well!

Apparently, the reunion was just as emotional behind the scenes as it was for fans when they first stepped onstage to present the "Anti-Hero" singer the award for Best Pop Video.

"It was pretty emotional, the first time we all got in the studio together," Lance Bass revealed in an interview. "Back in March, we decided to, you know, get back together and have some fun and it was like no [time] had passed."

*NSYNC is a boy group composed of Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Joey Fatone, Chris Kirkpatrick, and Bass.

They were most prominent in the mid-90s to early 2000s, with their hits "Girlfriend," "Pop," "Gone," and "It's Gonna Be Me."

"But there was there was a lot of tears. It was just tears of joy. And it was just a beautiful moment," the singer continued. "Like, time does so much and for us to finally be together, it just feels right."

Elsewhere in the interview, Bass also expressed his gratitude towards their fans, as well as the warm reception they received following the announcement of their reunion and upcoming single.

"It is beautiful, you know? To be this age and the fans are still this excited, it is a dream come true," the singer explained.

"I had no idea the fandom would go this nuts-I blame Taylor Swift," he added. "I think she she sicced the Swifties on us and I think the Swifties and the *NSYNCers just kind of created this tsunami. And I think it's been so fun!"

Despite what already seemed to be a huge celebration for *NSYNC's reunion, it was a far cry from what it was supposed to be initially.
