Halsey Bio 

Ashley Nicolette Frangipane (known professionally as Halsey) was born on September 29, 1994 in Edison, New Jersey. As a child, Halsey played the guitar, violin, viola, and cello. She took inspiration in adoring music idols, such as Alanis Morissette, Justin Bieber, and Brand New, as per All Music. 

As can be seen in the music Halsey preferred, she eventually pursued the works of materials that were cross-genre in theme and melody. This music pulls in a mix of a dark and emotive pop beat in which mainstream and alternative audiences have patronized. 

How Halsey Started Her Music Career 

Halsey got her professional name from a Brooklyn L train subway stop, and debuted her music with the single, "Ghost." This single paved the way for the singer to strike a record contract with Astralwerks in early 2014. Astralwerks is a Capitol-owned electronic/dance label. 

Halsey's debut EP was released in October 2015, and is titled, "Room 93." During the same year, Halsey released her debut studio album called, "Badlands." This album include production contributions from Lido, the Futuristics, and Son Lux. 

Halsey Hits, Accomplishments, and Accolades 

"Badlands" include the hit songs, "New Americana," "Colors," Castle," and, of course, "Ghost." "Castle" has its own version that's included in the soundtrack of the movie, "The Huntsman: Winter's War." "Badlands" made a breakthrough debut on the number two spot of the Billboard 200 chart. Eventually, the album was certified double platinum. 

Halsey's success progressed in 2016 when she was featured in the Chainsmokers hit, "Closer." The match made in heaven collaboration propelled "Closer" to the top of multiple charts in many parts of the world. It didn't take long for "Closer" to get many platinum certifications in the United States, United Kingdom, and Australia, to name a few. 

In 2017, the Halsey single, "Not Afraid Anymore" was featured in the "Fifty Shades Darker" film soundtrack. After three months, Halsey released the lead single off her sophomore album called, "Now or Never." The single is off the album, "Hopeless Fountain Kingdom."

Halsey Fifth Album Available Soon? 

In a recent Instagram post, Halsey shared a series of photos of different moments of her life, and hinted that her potential fifth album to be released may have a theme based on the said images. As per NME, the singer captioned the set of photos as: "Not pictured: me splitting myself in two every day so that I can give you my deepest wounds (and a handful of perfect joys) for the 5th time in 10 years."
