Depeche Mode recently performed in New Orleans, but fans didn't know there was a sinister background about the group's return to the city as it was the same area where singer Dave Gahan almost died 30 years ago; what happened?
According to Nola, the group was in the city on October 8, 1993, for their "Devotional Tour." At the time, they performed at the UNO Lakefront Arena.
During that moment, Gahan was unfortunately addicted to drugs, and due to his overuse of the substance, he reportedly suffered from a drug-induced heart attack during the show.
He later left the arena to be transported to a nearby hospital by an ambulance. Instead of stopping the show, the rest of his bandmates continued to perform for their fans, and they even played a track called "Death's Door."

30 years later, the band returned to New Orleans, but this time, they performed at the Smoothie King Center. During their show, neither the group nor Andy Gahan himself ever addressed what happened decades ago during their show.
Even though Gahan never brought up the topic, the outlet noted that the singer appeared to be healthy and looked better than he was decades ago.
