Blink-182 fans were in a state of euphoria when the trio finally announced the original lineup comeback last year. Fast forward to 2023, the band is due to release their comeback album, "One More Time..," their first album with the original lineup in years.

Now, drummer Travis Barker reflects on the trio's friendship throughout the years, including their fallout and subsequent reunion.

Blink 182 Fallout

In an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music, the Pop-punk trio talked about themselves and the trajectory of their friendship throughout the years that have passed.

Drummer Travis Barker became candid on what he missed about the band most - the friendship.

"It was always heavy on my heart that our friendship wasn't mended. Heaviness weighs on you when you have something that's important to you in a relationship with somebody and you don't really fix it, it's just kind of lingering," he reflected.

Thanks to their reunion, Barker admitted that the "aura of toxicity" that was "in his heart for reasons" no longer matters. The drummer now says that they felt like their bond was "stronger than ever."

"I just think having that weight off my heart and feeling closer to these guys really makes me able to see what this is and value it so much more and be so honestly happy for what it does for people," Barker added.

For context, Tom DeLonge left the band in 2015, saying that he could not commit to the band anymore. According to Radio X, he wanted to spend more time with his children and family at the time.

"A week before we were scheduled to go in to the studio, we got an email from [Tom's] manager explaining that he didn't want to participate in any Blink-182 projects indefinitely, but would rather work on his other non-musical endeavours," a statement about DeLonge said at the time.

Blink 182 Reunion

Last October 2022, the trio finally announced that they were reuniting back together.

Barker reflected on this in the same Apple Music interview.

"Having the ability to come together and fix the friendship and come back together as the brothers we are is so important to me because it allows me to be so insanely grateful for this and how it touches other people now," he said. "All I care about now is now I can really stand within this thing and also look outside of it, and look within, and see what it really is and what it's doing for people and what it's done for people."
