After undergoing a radical hair transformation, pop sensation Lorde appeared almost unrecognizable while she attempted to go incognito in the public.

Although a fan managed to notice the Tennis Court hitmaker, 26, with her new bright blonde hair as she took the subway earlier this week, she is usually recognized for her trademark dark, wavy hair.

The two-time Grammy winner (Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O'Connor) tried to blend in while sporting a green graphic t-shirt tucked into her white slacks and a surgical mask pulled under her chin for her laid-back stroll.

She used the renowned public transit system of the Big Apple while wearing a set of white headphones and two braids in her waves. Lorde kindly responded to a fan's request for a selfie.

Later, the follower, @snarkilytm on Twitter, published the photo of the two of them as well as another of the musician from the side.

The Kiwi singer revealed she was going through a personal "heartbreak" in a painful open letter she shared with her fans last month. Subscribers to the performer's weekly 'How I've Been, Revised' received an indication that she and her longtime partner Justin Warren were having relationship issues.

"I'm different but the same. I ache all the time, I forget why and then remember. I'm not trying to hide the pain, I understand pain isn't something to hide," she started.

Lorde then said that she had stopped taking her medicine and wishes she could go back in time. "I sit in the time machine and wait for it to move, but it hasn't been invented yet. The little yellow pill I took every morning for thousands of mornings since I was 15, I stopped taking it 5 days ago. Gonna see how it goes," she explained.

While Justin Warren, her boyfriend who is a music executive, was not specifically mentioned in her disturbing letter, her relationship woes have been quickly assumed by her supporters.

Lorde previously stated that she is composing her fourth studio album, which will be released after 2021's Solar Power. "It has taken me quite a while [to start working on it]," she said to Ensemble magazine. "I mean, I just take a while... I write a lot and do a lot of research. She did not mention any plans to release an album in 2023, while she did not provide any information regarding the collaborators she is working with or the anticipated release date.
