Cher's own opinion of her work could have been better.
The famed singer recently opened up to Paper Magazine, unveiling that she is her fiercest critic.
The "Believe" vocalist admitted that she has never been a fan of either her musical style or her singing ability.
"I'm not a Cher fan, but I like doing it. I just never liked my voice that much. If I had my choice, I probably would have another one, but I didn't get my choice. I got my mother's voice."
Discussing her unique vocal tone, the Grammy-winning artist revealed that her sound is akin to neither male nor female.
"It's something in-between," she declared. "My voice doesn't conform to either gender category."
"I have this strange style," the pop icon continued. "I do what you do when you can't hold a note: I don't pronounce my Rs. I guess some consonants are hard to sing, so I just have to leave them open."
Cher has been a well-known singer for many decades, but she recently revealed that she is not necessarily pleased with all of the hit records she has made.
"I've made so many albums, and some of the ones I thought were as good as I could, like an album of mine, weren't hits. And then other ones that I was not that excited about [were]," she said.
Despite her worries, the iconic hitmaker is hopeful about her new album "Christmas," which she recorded with 37-year-old Alexander "AE" Edwards.
Regarding it, Cher said: "I like this album. When I listen to it, I think this worked out - not something planned, but still successful all the same!"
The two met for the first time during Paris Fashion Week in the fall of 2022, and their connection was made in just a few short minutes.

At the beginning of May, it was reported that the couple had split. However, during the summer months, their relationship seemed to re-emerge. Cher recently spoke to Extra and expressed her admiration for Edwards, noting how they simply "get" one another.
"I hate to talk about how happy I am, but ... we have a great time together," she told the outlet.
Describing her relationship with her new partner, she exclaimed, "It's like there are no boundaries. Music, humor, life - anything. His son is adorable, too! Our connection is undeniable - despite the 40-year age gap between us! My references from the past often go over his head, but that doesn't matter to us."
She shook her head in disbelief as she described the situation: "I'll be conversing with him, and suddenly, he has no idea what I'm talking about."
