G-Dragon has been booked for an alleged drug-related violation, which the K-pop idol has since debunked.

South Korean news outlet News1 reported on Wednesday, October 25, that the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency had booked the leader of the K-pop boy group BIGBANG. He reportedly violated the Act on the Control of Narcotics, Etc.

"Because it's a case that's currently under investigation, we cannot reveal concrete details," the police said.

G-Dragon Responds To Allegations

After he was booked without detention, G-Dragon - born Kwon Ji Yong - broke his silence through his attorney and penned a formal statement in which he denied using drugs.

"First, there is no truth to the [claim] that I have taken drugs," he said in the statement via Sports Chosun on Friday, October 27. "Additionally, I have no relation to the news reports about the violation of the Act on the Control of Narcotics, Etc. that was recently revealed in the media. However, because I know many people are concerned, I will actively cooperate with police investigations and will participate even more diligently."

The "That XX" rapper's case is not reportedly related to that of actor Lee Sun Gyun. He stepped out of his drama "No Way Out" following the drug-related allegations.

Meanwhile, YG Entertainment also addressed the issue and said it could not comment on the matter since G-Dragon is not under the agency.

The BIGBANG member ended his exclusive contract with the company earlier this year after 17 years of promoting under the label. His exit led YG Entertainment's stock to dip to an all-time low of $130 million in market cap value.

G-Dragon also showed a sign that he joined a new agency after uploading photos of an electronic display that shows the text, "Warner Records Welcomes G-Dragon." The company also added his name to its portal site after the post.
