Taylor Swift just released her new re-recorded album, "1989 (Taylor's Version)," and some fans reminisced about the day the singer revealed that she had to go through wild lengths and hoops just so the 2014 version of the album would not be leaked.
"I have a lot of maybe-/maybe-not-irrational fears of security invasion, wiretaps, people eavesdropping," the "Anti-Hero" singer admitted during her appearance at Jimmy Kimmel's show in 2014.
Fans are well aware of Swift and the measures she would take to ensure her privacy, as well as how good she is at keeping things a secret.
That is probably why some were shocked to find out just "1989" was still leaked despite how far she is willing to go to make sure that her music will not be leaked.
Taylor Swift Safeguards '1989'
According to reports, Swift did a variety of tricks to ensure "1989" would not be leaked before its release date.
While she held a "Secret Sessions" with her fans in her Los Angeles home, the singer instructed that heavy metal music be played near the windows, to make sure none of the songs from "1989" would slip through the cracks.
She also kept most of the songs on her iPhone for most of the time; there was also allegedly an iPad that was flown-in and was accompanied by a security guard. The singer even went as far as to have the album played through earphones for critics to hear.
However, much to her dismay, "1989" was leaked three days before its official release in 2014.

Taylor Swift Drops '1989 (Taylor's Version)'
Since then, Swift has released her version of "1989," along with five new songs from the vault: "'Slut!'," "Now That We Don't Talk," "Say Don't Go," "Suburban Legends," and "Is It Over Now?"
She also included the bonus tracks from the 2014 version: "Wonderland," "New Romantics," and "You Are In Love."
The new re-recorded album was released on Oct. 27, and instantly broke a record Swift previously held with her 2022 album "Midnights."
According to reports, "1989 (Taylor's Version)" earned a billion streams three days after its release. Spotify announced that the "Shake It Off" singer is currently the most-streamed artist on the music-listening platform in its 15-year history.
