Kelly Clarkson made a huge move this year by transferring her studio from California to New York, specifically at The Rockefeller Center.

Since doing so, Clarkson has explored her love for Broadway and tried incorporating it into her show.

Broadway In 'The Kelly Clarkson Show'

Speaking exclusively to Broadway World, "The Kelly Clarkson Show" showrunner Alex Duda teased that now the show is in New York, the possibility of the synergy between the show and Broadway has increased tenfold.

"To be in New York City and 30 Rock, the media mecca of the world and with an audience of 200 people, there's an energy that is palpable. We love it," she explained.

Very recently, "Merrily We Roll Along" actors Daniel Radcliffe, Lindsay Mendez, and Jonathan Groff graced the show and played a game of "I Need to Know If You Know This Show" with Clarkson. "Gutenberg! The Musical's" Josh Gad and Andrew Rannells also made an appearance on the show to promote their show.

According to Duda, Broadway will become a "big component" of the show in the coming months. Per the showrunner, they will be introducing a new segment called "Broadway in 6A," as they opened their shows to productions on Broadway - with an audience member getting a moment in the spotlight.

"We'd love to have more Broadway performances. I want to do a thing called 'Broadway in 6A,' because that's our stage, and get different casts to come in and perform. But, I want to send an audience member, just a random audience member, to the show the night before," Duda explained. "From the beginning, we built our show around who Kelly is. Kelly's a connector. She connects not just the people on the couch, but the people behind the cameras, the audience."

Kelly Clarkson Following Rosie O'Donnell?

Alex Duda also shared with Broadway World that Kelly Clarkson idolizes Rosie O'Donnell, who was instrumental in introducing Broadway in her own show "The Rosie O'Donnell Show" back then.

With the inspiration, Duda also spoke extensively about drawing inspiration from the television icon.

"Rosie was always good at that when Rosie was on. Kelly's a big fan of Rosie," Duda elaborated. "That was one of the things that I think she grew up watching. So it's like, 'Oh my gosh, we're going to be in Rockefeller Center just like Rosie was.'"
