Dolly Parton and Hayley Williams might hail from two different genres and generations, but they still bond over one mutual connection: their love for Miley Cyrus.

More recently, ahead of the country legend's first-ever rock album's release, she sat down with the Paramore frontwoman in an interview.

The musicians spoke with Consequence where Williams told Parton that her and her goddaughter's voices blend well together.

"You on this song, it feels like a song that you could have written," the rock musician told the country songstress over their version of Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball" which will be included in "Rockstar's" official tracklist.

"Well, I wish I had written that song... Miley, I'm crazy about. I don't think people even know how talented she is," she added.

Elsewhere in the conversation, the two spoke about Miley Cyrus' songwriting Skills. Williams said people underestimate the "Flowers" hitmaker because she used to be a child actor from Disney.

However, despite the negative connotation, the Paramore vocalist agreed that she already proved her skills as she's a "great singer, a writer."

Parton also agreed as she said: "She's a great writer and that voice... I think she's the new, modern day rock chick. That thing that's got the grit and the soul and the sex appeal." (via Billboard)

The country musician further added that her goddaughter has the "cigarette voice" but she could still sing in a delicate manner.

Later on, the pair spoke about Parton's surprising induction into the 2022 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame where the country legend revealed that she felt that she didn't earn it.

She further explained that she's doing a rock album in the present to make her feel that the title truly belongs to her.

Dolly Parton 'Rockstar' Release Date

Dolly Parton is set to drop her first-ever rock album titled "Rockstar" which will feature some star-studded collaborations including Elton John, Ringo Starr, Paul McCartney, Stevie Nicks, and many more.

The singer will not only collaborate with musical legends, but also with younger artists like Miley Cyrus. The song has a whopping 30 songs in the official tracklist.

The new album will be available for streaming on major music platforms like Spotify and Apple Music starting on November 17, 2023.
