"The Voice" has always featured a lot of surprises as the seasons go by. Among the biggest surprises this season was getting country music icon Wynonna Judd as the mega mentor, and very recently, Country duo Dan + Shay made a significant appearance too!

Earlier this year, Dan + Shay were announced to become "The Voice's" first duo coach next season.

"Because of my concert schedule, I actually won't be in town for Knockout Rehearsals," he explained, clarifying that he won't be there for the rehearsals period only. "Because I won't be there, I've chosen another coach to come in and mentor you guys during rehearsals. And it's not just one coach, it's two!"

Grammy-winning duo Dan + Shay, who were announced to be taking their first-ever coach role next season, had a pretty good training supervising Niall's team during the Knockouts rehearsals.

"I know you're coming on here for season 25, so it's good practice for you guys!" Horan told the Country duo over the phone. "I'll send you all the info on the team... so you can get to know everything before you rock up here."

Dan even joked, asking Horan if they would get credited for a win if one of his team members snagged the championship title again this season. Team Niall won on Season 23, thanks to Gina Miles.

Dan + Shay in 'The Voice'

As for Dan + Shay, they have already appeared on "The Voice" - once as Team Blake's guest mentor in Season 20.

Sharing their excitement on Instagram about their addition to the "The Voice" family, the duo explained how their duo chairs will work.

"Listen, people have been asking, 'Is it two chairs? Is it one?'" Shay said. "It's two chairs, but one button."

In many international franchises of the show, the double chair has already been used, but for the US franchise, this would be the first one.

Over to the comment section, fans of the two were excited, now that more people were going to hear how incredible the duo is.

"Gonna be good!!! Love the Voice will miss Kelly and Blake. But have every confidence this is going to be a good season with you all. Brought some Kelly into that last bit, lol," a fan commented.
