According to VibeCeeLo Green has been dropped as the headliner for an upcoming Louisiana festival.

The cancellation of his performance comes after a series of setbacks including the canceling of his TBS reality show The Good Life and a Sept. 20 United States Navy sponsored performance in Washington, D.C.

Green was scheduled to perform at the Gretna Heritage Festival in Gretna, La., on Oct. 5. Festival officials said in a news release Friday that he'll be replaced by Joan Jett and the Blackhearts

NOLA.com/The Times-Picayune reports Green's subsequent comments via Twitter prompted festival organizers to drop him. Organizers of Freedom LIVE also cited his skewed views on sexual assault as reasoning for dropping him from their lineup.

Following his slap on the wrist of a sentence stemming from a 2012 incident during which he allegedly gave a woman ecstasy without her consent, Green took to Twitter to defend himself to the public.

He responded to a few tweets and offered up some bizarre responses, which he promptly deleted soon after.

"If someone is passed out they're not even WITH you consciously," Green tweeted.

He went on to question the validity of the accusations noting that there was metaphorical "no broken glass" to prove the charges. He added, "People who have really been raped REMEMBER!!!"

Green then posed a question of his own for his Twitter hecklers, "So if I TRIED but did NOT succeed but the person said I DID then what really happened?"

He later deleted his Twitter account and then reinstated in to apologize, sort of.

"I truly and deeply apologize for the comments attributed to me on Twitter. Those comments were idiotic, untrue and not what I believe," he said on the social media site.
