Earlier this year, Colleen Ballinger faced a lot of backlash from fans and online users because of her allegations of grooming. Amid the scandal, the musician decided to release an apology video in the form of singing while playing the ukelele. Following that, the singer decided to take a break for nearly half a year.

More recently, Insider reported that Ballinger, popularly known for her character Miranda Sings, has decided to return on the internet and this time, she acknowledged the ukelele video she uploaded months ago.

In the original video shared with her 8 million followers titled "hi." Ballinger played her ukelele while singing a song that addresses her controversies.

   

She received major backlash from fans, especially when she declared in the track that she was "not a groomer."

"I'm just a loser who didn't understand I shouldn't respond to fans," she added.

Colleen Ballinger Returns to the Internet

After five months of hiatus, Ballinger returned with a fall vlog where she revealed that she considered her ukelele video "embarrassing."

"Sorry, I've been gone for so long. I've really missed this. I've missed talking to everyone every single day," she said.

The singer noted that she was accused of some "pretty awful things." She explained that at the time when she created the apology video, she was "mad" and she should have handled the situation with "maturity and empathy."

"I just let my ego take over, and I'm really disappointed in myself," she added.

What Happened to Colleen Ballinger?

The musician and content creator's controversy all began when Adam McIntyre accused her of having an inappropriate relationship with him when he was younger.

He claimed that it all started when he was only 13 years old. He also alleged that some of the tweets from Ballinger was written by him and he was not compensated for it, he even received a lingerie from the singer herself.

After he came out with the accusations, more online users and fans came forward to share their similar experiences with Ballinger as they claimed that she talked to them inappropriately even though they were younger.

Some screenshots were then posted online containing some messages and images that Ballinger sent to her teenage fans in a group chat called "Cooleeny's Weenies."
