Teyana Taylor has filed for divorce from Iman Shumpert after years of cheating and emotional abuse allegations.
The couple has been together for 10 years, and the singer's first impression of the NBA player might just come back to haunt her now that all has been said and done.
"I did not like him at first," Taylor revealed about meeting Shumpert for the first time in 2011. "He had just got drafted. He was young and doing a lot. ... He was drunk and had his shirt off."
However, she later sang a different tune two years later, in 2013, when she fell in love with him while she was helping him recover from a knee surgery.
"The funny part was [that we were] two people who weren't looking for anything but wound up together," she later said.
Since 2013 until the recent news of their divorce, the couple has been embroiled in controversy after controversy, as well as several milestones and celebrations along the way.

After two years of dating, the couple surprised everyone by revealing that they were expecting their first child together, followed by news of their being engaged.
The singer and basketball player welcomed their eldest, Junie, in December 2015; the birth was widely reported as Taylor gave birth in their bathroom a month early.
"She came out as a wonderful surprise to everyone!" She wrote in an Instagram post. "Not knowing I was in labor until I felt her head. It took two 10-count pushes with my fiancé playing Dr. and she entered this world into his bare hands!"
In 2022, it happened again-Taylor gave birth to their second child, Rue, in a bathroom.
While they are clearly no longer together, Taylor and Shumpert currently co-parent their daughters.

According to reports, there have been rumors of cheating and emotional abuse going on for years, but Taylor herself denounced it.
"We just keep y'all asses out the group chat lol, which is the reason we've been able to successfully & peacefully separate without all of the outside noise," the singer wrote.
"The only reason I'm even sharing THIS part of the chat is because the narratives are getting a little out of hand & it's unfair to all parties involved. I hope this provided some clarity for y'all."
New reports note that the divorce documents revealed that the cheating allegations were "being extremely emotionally and mentally abusive" to Taylor.
