When Ozzy Osbourne accepted the "icon" accolade from Rolling Stone UK, he was open about his chronic health issues.

The 74-year-old rock star told the magazine that he is now "practically crippled" as a result of recent back surgery.

He had to send his wife Sharon to pick up the award on his behalf at the ceremony in London on Thursday.

Ozzy, who was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2003, claimed that following a fall in 2019, he underwent his fourth back operation, during which time doctors found a tumor in his spine. He said this second surgery was a total fiasco, rendering him practically non-functional.

After the second and third, he thought he'd be up and running, but with the last one, they put a rod in his spine. The doctors had to completely excavate it since they found a malignancy in one of the vertebrae. Consequently, he's experiencing difficulties with his balance.

The Prince of Darkness also recounted a disagreement he had with his wife over marijuana use and said he only had "ten tears left" in his life. Sharon was so angry that he's contemplating something that can kill him, which just enrages him even more because he's near death anyway.

"At best, I have ten years left, and time flies by the older you get."

He added that the fact that Sharon and him recently marked our 41st wedding anniversary still astounds me.

The celebrity's wife, Sharon, who has three children together, described her husband's numerous surgeries as "five years of heartache."

Ozzy also discussed how heartbroken he was to have to postpone his tour earlier in the year and not be able to play for his fans one more time. That fact that he was never given the chance to say thank you or goodbye is one of the things he's deeply regretting.

"That's my goal to work to. To do those shows. I just want to be well enough to do one show where I can say, 'Hi guys, thanks so much for my life'."

"That's what I'm working towards, and if I drop down dead at the end of it, I'll die a happy man.'"
