Cher is known as one of the celebrities who prefers dating younger men, however, there is a very specific and good reason behind this.
During the 77-year-old star's appearance on the "Chicken Shop Date" interview series by Amelia Dinmoldenberg on YouTube, she was asked about one thing that all women should do at least once in their lives.
"Go out with a younger man!" Cher responded without missing a beat before she eventually revealed what led her to this conclusion and decision.
"Older men just do not like me," the "Believe" singer confessed.
Cher is currently dating Alexander "AE" Edwards, with whom she has a sizeable age gap; he is 37 years old.
Cher Recounts Alexander Edwards Courting Her
With the age gap came not only the pros but also the cons; Cher admitted that in the beginning, she did "not at all" like her current boyfriend too much.
The singer recounted the time they began talking through text, and that there were things the music executive did that icked her.
"He wrote me, 'Well, get some rest, babyyy,' with three Ys," she shared in the interview.
"And I'm like, 'He doesn't know me well enough to put three Ys on baby.' I was kind of pissed off. And then he just started texting me."
However, it did not take long for her to change her mind about him and she eventually fell in love with Edwards.
"I told my friends, don't fall in love with a younger man, we're too old. And don't fall in love by text. There goes that theory," she continued.

Cher, Alexander Edwards Engagement Rumors
According to reports, Cher expressed her happiness with her relationships, although she also acknowledged that their age gap might rub people the wrong way.
"[It's] kind of ridiculous on paper," Cher admitted, however, later added: "Maybe younger men don't care if you're funny or outrageous and want to do stupid things and you have a strong personality. I'm not giving up my personality for anybody, ok?"
There were rumors that she and Edwards had gotten engaged as well, however, sources close to the couple debunked the rumors and noted that the ring Edwards gave Cher did not come with a proposal.
"We can talk music. We can talk about everything. He's a got a great sense of humor, he's got the cutest son in the world, ever... We just get each other," Cher said about her relationship.
