Myles Goodwyn, popularly known for being the former singer of the band April Wine, has passed away at the age of 75; take a look at the musician's success and popularity before his death.

According to CBC, the singer passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2023. The tragic news was confirmed by his publicist, Eric Alper.

As of this writing, his family has yet to release an official statement, therefore, his official cause of death is still unknown.

April Wine was one of Canada's biggest bands as they were able to sell a whopping 10 million albums in the world. Since they are talented and have been loved by countless fans not only in their country but also outside of it, they received 11 Juno nominations.

In addition, they also became one of the music acts to be inducted into the Walk of Fame of Canada this 2023. Goodwyn himself also amassed popularity as he was inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame.

Myles Goodwyn Proud of His Achievement

At the time of his induction, the singer revealed that he was proud of the major achievement that he receive and he was happy to be inducted because songwriting is what he cares for most of all.

"Probably, I stayed in the business because of songwriting... I'm not the greatest singer, the greatest guitar player. I'm not the greatest songwriter either, but I took great pride in being able to write songs that were popular," he said.

Goodwyn was involved with April Wine for more than 50 years, but he made the decision to quit the group in March 2023 as he performed for the last time.

Regardless, he was still helping his former bandmates months leading to his death as he managed the group and wrote tracks for their new album. April Wine's new frontman is now Marc Parent.

Myles Goodwyn Health Woes

Although his cause of death was still unclear, it's worth noting that the had previous health issues. There was one moment in 2008 when he almost died.

At the time, he was taken to the hospital as he collapsed on his way to an airport, the reason why he suffered was because of his issues with alcohol.

He then entered a rehab where he got inspired to write an autobiography which le released in 2016.
