Selena Gomez has been teasing fans about recording new music in Paris since a couple of months ago, and her work in the recording studio is coming to fruition.
The Internet is in chaos after a fan asked the "Lose You to Love Me" singer, "When is SG3 coming, Sel?!" Gomez simply replied, "In 2 months."
According to reports, fans are currently using the singer's initials with the number three in reference to her upcoming release, as the new album will be Gomez's third studio album, following her solo debut studio album "Stars Dance" in 2013, "Revival" in 2015, and "Rare" in 2020.
As of this writing, the singer has yet to reveal the title of her upcoming work, and there is not a lot of information about what genre it will be in either.
All About Selena Gomez's Upcoming Album
Since taking an unofficial break from music, Gomez has focused on several different projects since her last release: she established her makeup brand Rare Beauty, joined the cast of "Only Murders in the Building," and even starred in the "Selena + Chef" series.
Fans were getting worried that she might have retired from music altogether, however, her recent interview about the upcoming album sheds more light on what she experienced during those three years and how it will reflect in her music.
"The music I'm doing right now is about real things that I'm walking through," the singer explained. "It's really powerful, strong, very pop. The theme generally is freedom - freedom from relationships, freedom from the darkness."
Selena Gomez Gives Fans a Taste Eith 'Single Soon'
Gomez dropped the very first single from her new album on Aug. 25. The song is a classic pop song with themes of being just out of a relationship and getting back into the scene without commitments or attachments.
With "Single Soon," "she wanted to give her fans a fun end of the summer song to enjoy as they've been patiently waiting for new music," the press releases noted.
The song was produced by Cashmere Cat and Benny Blanco-Gomez's boyfriend.

The "Love You Like a Love Song" singer recently confirmed that she is dating Blanco, a music producer after several months of speculation.
"He is my absolute everything in my heart," the singer replied to a picture of the couple posted by Pop Crave.
When a fan gushed about the new relationship, Gomez replied: "LOL yeah and he's still better than anyone I've ever been with. Facts."
