Sam Smith, Kim Petras Feuding? 'Gloria' Hitmaker Unfollows 'Unholy' Collaborator

Sam Smith has unfollowed their "Unholy" collaborator Kim Petras on Instagram, and it has left fans wondering if there has been a feud going on between the two.

An eagle-eyed fan spotted that the "Gloria" singer is no longer following Petras, however, Petras is still following Smith on Instagram.

The pair collaborated on the viral hit song, "Unholy," which caused a lot of commotion due to its controversial themes and lyrics; moreover, the song won Best Pop Duo/Group Performance at the Grammy Awards.

It seemed like going through online hate and winning an award to boot has brought the two closer.

Petras has, on several occasions, gushed about working with the "I'm Not the Only One" singer and described their collaboration as an "incredible journey."

"I had so much fun with Sam and I think we together felt very strong on stage and gave each other lots of confidence," the German singer said.

She also talked about how Smith guided her through the backlash "Unholy" received at the time.

"I feel like I've learned a lot from Sam regarding how to handle media and people commenting on your appearance, looks, your body. People were really harsh to Sam but I was very impressed to see how Sam handled all of that and didn't let it get close."

In fact, all of the backlash they received from netizens only brought the two closer: "Especially seeing Sam and the things that people had to say about Sam just make me sad as a friend. And someone who just loves music and is such a talent and such a light ... which I find inspiring for me," Petras said.

Kim Petras Defends Sam Smith Music Video

When Smith dropped their music video for "I'm Not Here to Make Friends," they were faced with another wave of criticism from netizens.

Petras was there yet again to defend the singer: "Sam is one of the sweetest people I've personally ever met and one of the most talented people I've personally ever met.

"I just love self-expression and I think we're kind of going backwards a little bit, you know, by just not letting everyone express their sexuality," she said.

Elsewhere in the interview, the singer declared her love for Smith: "I love Sam to pieces."

It is uncertain how or when the alleged feud between Smith and Petras began, or if there even is a feud to begin with.
