It's a sad Christmas season for Goose fans as the band announced that they're parting ways with one of their core members, Ben Atkind; check out the reason why he decided to leave the band below.

According to a statement shared on social media, as reported by Consequence, the group announced that over the past few months, the band members had "some really difficult internal conversations" that resulted to Atkind's depature.

One of the main reasons why they split was due to "fundamental personal and creative differences."

Later in the announcement, they expressed their love to the drummer amid their separation, adding, "We all love Ben very much and want nothing but the best for him. He is a world class drummer, and we can't wait to watch and support his future endeavors..."

Goose Having a Difficult Time Amid Ben Atkind Departure

The band added that although they're excited to start a new chapter of Goose, this time had been "difficult and painful" for them.

As of this writing, it's unclear if the group will release new music soon, but they added that, We will be heading into the new year with a renewed sense of creative fire that will allow us to dive deeper into the music and continue bringing you the Goose experience you know and love."

After Atkind's departure, the band members are now Rick Mitarotonda, Trevor Weekz, Jeff Arevalo, and Peter Anspach.

The drummer was one of the founding members when the band was established back in 2014.

Ben Atkind Shares Statement Amid Departure

In a separate post by Ben Atkind himself, he explained that "Long-term creative camaraderie demands personal evolution" and it also demands consistent communication as well as willingness to compromise.

He explained that he and his former bandmates attempted to try all of that, but in the end, those elements "fell out of sync" which resulted to him leaving the group.

He also expressed his love for Goose, adding that he was grateful for his time with them and he wishes them the best for their future.

In other updates about the group, it has been quite a while since they last released a project because their last music content was the EP "Dripfield" released in 2022.
