The 1975 has been actively touring over the past year and the last time they dropped an album was in 2022 with "Being Funny in a Foreign Language." More recently, frontman Matty Healy teased fans about a potential new record either for his solo career or his band.

According to NME, the singer is currently on break in Manchester to spend more time with his family for the holiday season after the band wrapped up the North American leg of their "Still... At Their Very Best Tour."

Even though he took his time to rest as he had been performing almost every night for the past couple of months, he wanted to tease his fans with some new content that might be coming out in the near future.

Taking to his official Instagram stories, the singer shared a meme of Sue Sylvester from Glee and he added the caption, "I am going to create an album that is so good."

Matty Healy Shares Demo Tracks Online

The musician went on to share screenshots of what appeared to be unreleased music demos that the public has yet to hear.

Some of the files he posted were titled "this love 140bpm," "ringbox1," "3011," and many more. In addition, there was also a file which read "Victim 5.18" which many fans speculated that it referred to "May 18, 2023," the same day when Taylor Swift's fan wrote an open letter to address their relationship rumors.

The 1975 Hiatus

Back in September 2023, Matty Healy and his The 1975 bandmates—Adam Hann, Ross MacDonald, and George Daniel—performed at a concert in Sacramento.

At the time, fans were shocked as he announced that the band would undergo an "indefinite hiatus of shows" once their tour ended.

Just days later, when they were in San Jose, he clarified things up, saying this wouldn't be a sign of the band breaking up.

"I didn't mean to scare any hardcore fans by insinuating that we were splitting up or anything like that. That's not happening. Don't worry about that," he said. (via Rolling Stone)

In other updates, the band will return to the stage in February as they will continue their tour in the United Kingdom and Europe. Tickets are available at this link.
