President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden were in attendance at the important ceremony, along with other esteemed guests and important personalities.

For those who do not know, Kennedy Center Honors are one of the highest recognition in the performing arts by the Board of Trustees of the Kennedy Center.

Annually, tribute performances are held in honor of the honorees. Cynthia Erivo and Chloe Bailey performed for Dionne Warwick, Dove Cameron for Renée Fleming, Lin Manuel Miranda performed for Billy Crystal, and Ben Platt for Barry Gibb, among many others.

However, for Queen Latifah, female rappers like Missy Elliott, Rapsody, MC Lyte, Monie Love, and D-Nice gave a rousing performance in honor of the famed rapper.

To top it all off, Kerry Washington gave a rousing speech in honor of Latifah, before introducing The Clark Sisters, one of the biggest inspirations of the rapper.

"The songs, the harmonies that they sing, I don't need to think about something sad," she said at the time to Parade Magazine. "I just play one of those songs and the harmony brings me to such an emotional place, because it's just music. Music is in you when you're an artist. And so, music can do something for you [similar] to what some traumatic experience may do for an actor to get them to a place to be able to cry 14 times in a row."
