John Oates is hoping for the best between him and his estranged musical partner, Daryl Hall, after the latter sued the former.

The multiplatinum-selling duo have not appeared on stage together again, and their fans seemingly lost hope after the spat between them worsened over the past few months.

Amid their legal showdown, Oates recently broke his silence and expressed his desire to see Hall & Oates perform together again.

John Oates Wants To Tour With Daryl Hall Again

Sources spoke with the National Enquirer and claimed that Oates believes he and Hall are "better together than apart" amid their court drama.

"John is used to Daryl's big ego - that he feels he was the star and John was just along for the ride," the insider said. "But he's convinced Daryl knows they are much better touring together than duking it out in court, and millions would roll in if they did a final tour!"

Oates and Hall's representatives have yet to comment on the new claims, which were shared nearly a month after Hall filed a lawsuit in Nashville, Tenn., on November 16. He also requested a temporary restraining order that was granted on November 17.

The duo's feud started due to their music catalog, but more filings were made after Oates' concerts.

The Guardian shared further details of the lawsuit including Hall accusing Oates of violating their business agreements over the planned sale of music catalog.

Oates also filed his response after Hall sued him.

"Over the years, Daryl has consistently and publicly been adamant about being perceived as an individual rather than as part of a duo or group," he said. "Thus, he has insisted on our being known as 'Daryl Hall and John Oates,' rather than the more commonly known 'Hall & Oates'. On this point I agree. I now must act with truthfulness and make decisions that are right for myself, my family, and my artistic future."

Hall has been consistent in expressing his disapproval of selling his publishing rights because it is "everything" he has.

Hall & Oates performed as a duo and released songs that topped the pop and R&B charts. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014.
