The renowned British musician, who embraces a non-binary identity and prefers they/them pronouns, has recently concluded their romantic involvement with Christian Cowan, a prominent fashion designer from the UK.

As the new year approached, the Daily Mail reported that they had already gone their separate ways. Despite their split, there is no hate left between these former partners.

The Past

In January 2023, Sam Smith and Christian Cowan's relationship blossomed after they collaborated on the visually stunning music video, "I'm Not Here to Make Friends."

Notably, Christian's expertise in clothing design has led to partnerships with some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry, such as Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, Cardi B, and Heidi Klum.

In a display of their affection, Sam and Christian publicly sealed their relationship with a passionate kiss. Making a grand entrance at the renowned New York Fashion Week in February, their presence was impossible to ignore.

The recent end of the singer's high-profile romance marks another chapter in their romantic journey; following their split with Brandon Flynn, known for his role in the popular series "13 Reasons Why," Christian became their first significant partner. Sam, who publicly expressed their non-binary identity in 2019, has always been open about their journey.

"After a lifetime of being at war with my gender, I've decided to embrace myself for who I am, inside and out," Sam shared. "I'm not male or female; I think I flow somewhere in between. It's all on the spectrum."
