"Barbie's" impact on cinema has defied expectations, the album, which was led by Billie Eilish's "What Was I Made For" is taking the Awards circuit by storm.

Produced by her own brother, FINNEAS, Billie Eilish's masterful songwriting and spine-chilling performance of the introspective ballad had critics and the public hooked.

Presented by "Barbie" director Greta Gerwig, who also received the Director of the Year award that night, the Chairman Award was one of the highest awards given at the Palm Springs International Film Festival. (via Variety)

FINNEAS and Billie Eilish were the first singer-songwriters who have receive the award. Their song, "What Was I Made For?" from "Barbie" captured the hearts of many.

Before Eilish's tribute to her parents, she revealed that she dedicates the song to a specific group of people.

"Anyone who experiences hopelessness and the feeling of existential dread, and feeling like 'what's the point?'" she asked the audience. "We all feel like that occasionally. I have really not wanted to be here. Sorry, dark, damn. I've spent a lot of time feeling that way. I want to say to anyone that feels that way, be patient with yourself, and know that it's worth it all. And I think it's good to be alive."

Billlie Eilish 'What Was I Made For?' Awards, Nominations

"What Was I Made For" has received significant acclaim at the recent Awards circuit. The song reached No. 1 on the UK Singles Chart and No. 14 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

It has already won the Hollywood Music in Media Awards's Best Original Song in a Feature Film category, deemed the Film Song of the Year at the 2023 Variety's Hitmakers Gala, and Best Original Song by the Georgia Film Critics Association.

The song was also nominated at the Golden Globe Awards for Best Original Song and the record received five Grammy nominations - Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance, Best Song Written for Visual Media, and Best Music Video.

It has also been shortlisted at the 2024 Academy Award for Best Original Song category along with "I'm Just Ken" and "Dance The Night."
