Over the past few months, Madonna took over Europe and North America to perform some of the most iconic hits from her decades-old music catalog for her "Celebration Tour," but fans were confused as one of her tracks, "Express Yourself," didn't make it to the setlist.

More recently, the pop royalty finally played the track in front of her thousands of fans in Boston as a surprise.

According to Billboard, Madonna typically performs an acoustic cover of Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive" during her acoustic set, but this time around, she opted to play "Express Yourself" from the album, "Like a Prayer" released in 1989.

A fan shared a video of the performance online in which the pop star can be seen raising a bottle of beer to salute 2024.

She later took an acoustic guitar and joked, "I have too many props... I feel like I'm in a saloon and everyone is hootin' and hollerin'," referring to her cowboy-inspired outfit.

Later on, Madonna expressed her gratitude of being healthy and well to perform on stage every single night with her "beautiful, talented, intelligent, opinionated children."

Although her oldest children Lourdes and Rocco have grew up already, her four other kids Estere and Stella Ciccone, as well as Mercy James and David Banda, are still with her.

"I'm very grateful, because while they may need me as a mother, I must admit that I need them... And I need you, and we need each other, cuz family isn't just what you're born into. Family is the family that you create. And if you feel like you're part of my family turn the lights on your phone," she said.

After the speech, Madonna proceeded to perform an acappella version of the old song "This Little Light of Mine," then the crowd was shocked when she sang the lyrics, "You don't need diamond rings or eighteen karat gold," which hinted that she will perform "Express Yourself."

The musician already finished her European leg and is currently travelling North America until later this year.
