Elijah Blue Allman's wife fought back after Cher filed to become her son's conservator.

Cher processed the legal documents to request a conservatorship for her troubled son who is reportedly "substantially unable to manage his financial resources" due to his mental health and substance abuse issues.

However, her daughter-in-law and Elijah's wife countered the filing and said Cher is categorically unfit to become the conservator because she is a "manic depressive" who could only jeopardize her son's recovery.

Cher Is Reportedly Unfit To Become Her Son's Conservator

In the new paperwork by Marieangela King, she defended Elijah and shared the reason why Cher could not do the job.

"[Cher] is not capable of managing her own affairs - let alone those of Elijah," King shared. "To my knowledge, the petitioner has never known the security code to her own home, does not drive, does not prepare her own meals or dress herself, and has admitted to me that she is a 'manic depressive.'"

The documents obtained, by RadarOnline.com, added that Elijah has been doing his best to maintain his sobriety by attending AA meetings five to six times a week. He is also reportedly drug-free.

King went on, "I believe that people in Elijah's family are emotional triggers for him. I have witnessed and experienced abusive behavior coming mostly from Elijah's mother - the petitioner herein but also from his siblings - Chaz and Devon."

Elijah's wife explained in the documents that he needs to be surrounded by sober people who are part of the AA community and not by his family members.

Why Did Cher File for Elijah Blue Allman's Conservatorship?

In the court documents, Cher expressed her worries that her son might spend his money on drugs until he no longer has assets to provide for himself.

"[Cher] loves Elijah immensely and has always acted with his best interests in mind," the document shared.

It added that Elijah's reconciliation with King had probably been harmful to his recovery, which the daughter-in-law reportedly never supported.

Cher was previously accused of kidnapping her son from a New York hotel where he was seeing his estranged wife. Per King, her mother-in-law paid men to remove Elijah from the room during the incident, which reportedly happened in November 2022.
