Slipknot's Corey Taylor faced criticism for canceling his North American tour but pushing through with his Southeast Asian tour.

"I decided to make this video in response to a lot of the feedback that came out after I announced that I would be carrying on with my Southeast Asia run," the Slipknot frontman began.

According to reports, Taylor was supposed to include his reasons behind pushing through the Southeast Asian tour, despite canceling his North American tour in the initial announcement.

"I, over the last year, have had a complete and utter breakdown of boundaries, mental health, ego, entitlement, the whole nine yards, culminating in a very, very real, very near relapse that... I kind of don't recognize myself."

The video was uploaded after a wave of criticism and complaints from fans from North America after the singer canceled the tour due to his health.

Taylor explained that the Southeast Asian tour only consists of four shows, which will last a week, and it will also serve as his basis to see how well he can "take it day by day."

"So, again, I wanted to address this and just tell people that I needed time to reset, I needed time to start working on my heart and my mind and get straight," he added.

The singer went on to describe what his days are currently like: "self-care, [...] getting held that [he] needs, and surrounding [himself] with [his] family."

Corey Taylor Cancels Solo North American Tour

The news of Taylor's canceled tour came in early January, when he released a statement citing health concerns.

"For the past several months my mental and physical health have been breaking down, and I reached a place that was unhealthy for my family and I," the statement read.

"I know this decision will come as a shock to some and may be regarded as unpopular by others - but after taking a hard look at where I am and where I was going, I need to pull myself back and be home with my family for the time being."
