    Heavy metal greats, Black Sabbath, has announced the end of its run as the dooming and unnerving group led by Ozzy Osbourne. The English band plans to wrap things up with The End farewell tour, slated to launch in January.

    Tipper Gore and a group of other (socially) conservative and influential women gathered 30 years ago to organize the PMRC (or Parents Music Research Center) after listening to the travesty that was Prince's "Darling Nikki." That organization has become the face of the censorship movement in the United States, ruining good album artwork and antagonizing Eminem, Marilyn Manson, Frank Zappa and others for three decades now. When it formed, the group issued a list titled the "Filthy 15," listing tracks that it considered especially repulsive. Music Times is ranking those first 15 songs in terms of potential for wrecking lives.

    Black Sabbath drummer Bill Ward is not happy with Ozzy Osbourne. The pair's relationship has been strained ever since 2012 when the percussionist decided not to join his former bandmates for a reunion due to issues with the contract. Ward now says that he will not join the group for a final tour or album until Osbourne apologizes to him.

    Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler is as feisty as ever. The musician was arrested Tuesday, Jan. 27, after getting into a drunken bar fight in California. Police charged the 65-year-old with misdemeanor assault, public intoxication and vandalism. Butler was taken to jail and released after he detoxed and was cited, "Rolling Stone" noted.

    If you have ever been hungry and ready to mosh at the same time, Mac Sabbath might be your new favorite band. The quartet dresses like characters from McDonald's and performs parodies of Black Sabbath songs. These guys were either bored or hungry when they came up with this idea, but we are glad they did.The band takes heavy metal classics like "Iron Man" and "Paranoid" and changes them into "Frying Pan" and "Pair-a-buns," "MTV News" notes."I once burned your meal / My old job was cooking veal / Now it's a culinary crime / All our future is pink slime," the Ronald Osbourne frontman sings.Demented versions of Grimace (Grimalice), Hamburglar (Catburglar) and Mayor McCheese (Slayer McCheese) all play in the group as well.The band's Facebook page lists their brand of music as "Drive Thru Metal." They even have a little bit of a Gwar storyline, according to the bio:

  • Eric Church Joins Taylor Swift, Sam Smith, Ariana Grande as 'The Outsiders' Goes Platinum

    Move over, Jason Aldean, because Eric Church is joining the platinum party. The singer recently became the second country artist to reach the 1-million mark for albums sold in 2014 with "The Outsiders." Church is only the fifth artist this year to hit the milestone. Aldean, Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande and Sam Smith were all certified platinum previously and the soundtrack for Disney's "Frozen" received the honor as well.As Church's website notes, "The Outsiders," released Feb. 11, sold 288,000 copies in its first week. It went straight to No. 1 on the "Billboard" 200 and Top Country Albums charts. Church received four Grammy nods, including Country Album of the Year, Country Song of the Year, Country Solo Performance of the Year and Country Group/Duo of the Year.The Outsiders also won the Album of the Year honor at the inaugural American Country Countdown Awards recently. He stressed the importance of albums during his acceptance speech.
