• Mumford & Sons Joined On Stage by My Morning Jacket, Ed Helms and The War on Drugs

    Music festivals tend to bring about endless collaborations and guests to the stage, leaving audience members eager to see if their favorite artists will enlist the help of any fellow musicians. During Mumford & Sons headlining set at Manchester's Bonnaroo on Saturday, the folk rockers invited special guests to join them in a cover of The Beatles classic, "With A Little Help From My Friends."

    This week Warner Music became the first major label to report higher earnings from streaming than digital downloads, but album sales seem to be doing alright for Mumford & Sons, which tops the sales chart by selling 249,000 copies of 'Wilder Mind' this week. That's a sizable number but more than a 50 percent drop off from the band's previous album, 'Babel,' which debuted with 600,000 copies sold (the biggest rock debut of the decade thus far, in the band's defense).

    My Morning Jacket announced their upcoming new album The Waterfall and dropped its lead single "Big Decisions" earlier this month, and now they've dropped a trailer for the effort. The trippy, ocean-inspired clip shows the rock quintet recording their 10-track seventh studio album at their sprawling Panoramic House studio at Northern California's Stinson Beach, ending on a long pan over the album's majestic cover art. It also features previews of five new tracks: "Spring (Among the Living)," "Big Decisions," "Compound Fracture," "Believe (Nobody Knows)," and "Get the Point."

As per usual, Saturday and Sunday boast the best lineups, but Thursday and Friday are looking just fine.

Louisville's own My Morning Jacket, in addition to Modest Mouse, Sam Smith and Widespread Panic, will headline the Kentucky festival.

    The War on Drugs just added some spring dates to their victory lap tour behind 2014's brilliant "Lost in the Dream" record. In addition to their scheduled appearances at Coachella, Governors Ball and Bonnaroo, the group will make stops in Virginia, Georgia and Alabama before festival season arrives. Their next trek begins at the end of the month in Mexico as part of My Morning Jacket's One Big Holiday event.

    It's currently festival announcement season, and the good people of the Hangout Music Festival have joined in on the fun. Zac Brown Band, Skrillex, Foo Fighters and Beck are set to headline the event, which occurs on the Gulf Shores in Alabama May 15-17. Other big names include Paramore, My Morning Jacket, Foster the People and Spoon. Hangout organizers also announced a partnership with Goldenvoice, the promotion company behind Coachella and Firefly.
