All it took was a phone call or two from Gosling's ex Rachel McAdams to bring out Mendes's jealous side and make her fiercely protective of her new family.According to a report by Radar Online, McAdams recently decided to call Gosling to congratulate him on becoming a father, and the conversation turned a bit more personal. Mendes was left with the feeling that McAdams might be hoping to reunite with her former love, and she immediately banned Gosling from having any further contact with her.Gosling and Mendes had been together for a few years and were rumored to have been on a break when she found out she was pregnant. That might be one of the reasons why it took her until almost her third trimester to confirm that she was having a baby. Obviously, Mendes managed to win back her man and she and Gosling seem to have been doing quite well since baby Esmeralda was born a few months ago.
