• Music Times Matches Republican Debate Candidates (Trump et al) with Opening Acts

    The Republican Debates will air tonight on FOX, and many will be tuning in to hear what Donald Trump will say...versus actually trying to educate themselves on who the best candidate for the right side of the aisle might be. Music Times doesn't write too much about politics but we know something, duh, about music, so we've come up with an act or musician to accompany all ten of tonight's candidates. Check out our reasoning below, with the candidates ordered just as FOX has them ranked heading into the big event.

    The 2016 presidential election is barely in motion, but we're already getting celebrity opinions on the matter. Earlier this week, entrepreneur and The Apprentice star Donald Trump announced his bid for the Republican nomination, and Cher is having none of it. After the presidential hopeful's announcement, the legendary pop singer went in on Trump on Twitter, handing him plenty of shade along the way.

    Ted Cruz became the first of many Republican believed to be in pursuit of the White House during 2016, as he formally announced his name as a runner for the GOP nomination for the presidency. Scott Walker, Jeb Bush, Chris Christie and several more right-leaning individuals will probably follow his lead soon enough. Let's focus on Cruz however. Admittedly, there's not much for a music site to say; he doesn't exactly play bass like former presidential candidate Mike Huckabee.
