  • 7 Pairs Of Albums With The Same Title: Which Is Better?

A while back, I wrote an article comparing songs that happen to have the same title. Though two songs sharing the same title is fairly common (I could rewrite that list many times over with new songs), two albums sharing a title doesn't happen nearly as much. Let's unfairly compare some albums whose only similarities are their titles.
  • 8 Songs Written About Other Musicians: Nirvana, Nick Cave, and more

A vast majority of musicians write about things that they either love or hate, whether it means certain places, politics, or even other musicians. Here are eight songs written about other musicians.
  • Bumbershoot 2014 lineup features Foster The People, J.Cole, Wu-Tang Clan and more for Labor Day Weekend

The Bumbershoot Festival is looking to take over Seattle and the surrounding areas once again this Labor Day weekend, and today (May 9), the jam-packed lineup was announced online.
  • 7 Album Covers That Don't Match the Music: Pink Floyd, Neil Young, and more

A good album cover should compliment the music inside, and a lot of covers do this very well. The ethereal cover of My Bloody Valentine’s Loveless matches the album’s ethereal music, but some album covers suggest something completely different than what the music actually offers. Here are seven album covers that don’t match the album’s music.
  • 5 Artists Whose Lyrics Are Better Than Their Music

When talking about his songwriting, Kurt Cobain was once said “music comes first and lyrics come second.” Most songwriters and music fans place the importance of a song’s music over its lyrical content, but there are some singers whose lyrics are actually the best parts of their songs. Here are five artists whose lyrics are better than their music.
  • Austin City Limits releases lineup: Eminem, Pearl Jam and—SURPRISE!—Outkast among headliners

Austin City Limits, the last of the American mega festivals to release its lineup for the 2014 season, has finally dropped its lineup for both weekends of the event, which will go down between October 3 and 5, plus between October 10 and 12.
  • Seven Singers Who Should Be Replacing Kurt Cobain: PJ Harvey, Lemmy, and more

At tonight's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, the surviving members of Nirvana will be performing with Joan Jett on lead vocals. Jett will probably do a fine job, but I doubt that she was their first choice to replace Kurt Cobain for the night. Here are seven singers who should have at least been considered to sing for Nirvana at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
  • 8 Bands That Should Be On Classic Rock Radio: The Replacements, the Buzzcocks, and more

Classic rock radio is, by its own design, a very stagnant radio format. While a lot of excellent songs are played, there’s never going to be new “classic rock” band to come along and shake things up. What these radio stations could do, though, is dig a little deeper and give some of these artists a spin.
  • Eight Bands That Moved Away from Punk: Beastie Boys, Green Day, and more

The world would be a much poorer place if punk rock didn't exist. It's a great place for musicians to start out, but there's only so much someone can do within the genre before they or their audience gets bored with it, which is why so many bands that started in punk eventually moved on, such as...
  • The Replacements Continue Attitude of Disregard, Much to The Pleasure of Toronto Riot Fest Attendees

It's been more than 22 years since The Replacements played its last show. Still, anyone who knew them should have figured they wouldn't get sentimental.
  • The Replacements Make New Lineup Clear, No News About Future After Riot Fest Reunion Shows

Not too much is known about The Replacements' plans for existence outside of a trio of Riot Fest festival dates. The Minneapolis Star-Tribune was able to confirm the band's lineup for the three dates however, another piece of information that was up for grabs as it was known original members Slim Dunlap and Steve Foley would not be present. Foley died of an prescription drug overdose in 2009, and Dunlap suffered a stroke in 2012.
