Longtime Wovenhand drummer Ordy Garrison died Tuesday morning, the band said through a statement on social media.
The post, which is no longer available as of press time (via Loudwire), informed fans that Garrison passed away, leaving his wife Kate and son Carlos behind. It also revealed that Garrison died after suffering a heart attack the same morning, though it did not share whether the drummer had an underlying health issue prior to the emergency condition.
Festivals, Musicians, Fans Paid Tribute to Ordy Garrison
Wovenhand's label Sargeant House released a separate statement to honor the longtime drummer, in which it called the late musician an "extraordinary musician, husband, father, and friend."
"Heartfelt condolences to any and all that ever got to feel his grace," said the agency in an Instagram post. "He will be missed so deeply."
Following the tragic news, more festivals and musicians also shared tributes online as they remembered their time with Garrison.

Fire In The Mountains' Facebook page uploaded a photo of Wovenhand performing during its inaugural event taken by jsimagery and extended its condolences to his bereaved family and friends. Record label Deathwish Inc., Blake Brown & The American Dust Choir, and Crippled Black Phoenix also delivered their respects for the musician through online posts.
Ordy Garrison's Career As Musician
Garrison rose to fame as the drummer for Wovenhand though David Eugene Edwards initially formed it in Denver, Colorado, as a solo project. The former 16 Horsepower member then worked with Garrison and created the sophomore release, "Consider the Birds," in 2004.
Wovenhand toured with Garrison for two decades, making him the only other core member of the group alongside the founding member.
In a 2008 interview, Edwards spoke about being a constant member of Wovenhand with Garrison, saying they did tour with just the two of them though touring with a band would always require more people. The band, however, also welcomed Belgian musician Peter Van Laerhoven and Edwards' 16 Horsepower bandmate Pascal Humbert.
"Sometimes it is not financially feasible for me to bring Peter from Brussels over to America, as we don't make enough money there to pay everyone and have it work out for everybody," he said. "We basically do it according to the situation. A lot of the time when we are in Europe, however, all four of us will play together."
Garrison's family is yet to confirm the details of his funeral and memorial service.
