  • Justin Townes Earle Announces New Album 'Absent Fathers' along with US Tour Dates [FULL SCHEDULE]

    A month after Justin Townes Earle put out his new record "Single Mothers," the Americana artist is announcing another album that will be released in early 2015. "Absent Fathers" was supposed to be the second disc in a double album Earle planned with "Single Mothers," but the artist took some extra time with the former, "Consequence of Sound" reports. The new release will be out Jan. 15 via Vagrant Records and will include 10 fresh tracks from the singer-songwriter — check out the tracklist below. In addition to the album, Earle also revealed some new tour dates that will have the artist on the road until December. Check out the dates below.

    Whether you're a NASCAR fan or not, chances are, if you hear the word "Talladega," you think racing (or at least the movie, 'Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby).' However, Eric Church told Billboard recently that his single by the same name has nothing to do with racing. The song, according to Church, is about life itself, and the track name just was what he used as the "avenue through which the commentary took place."

    Nicki Minaj has reportedly split from rumored boyfriend and hype man Safaree Samuels (a.k.a. Scaff Beezy), TMZ reports. The two have been dating for about 14 years, though Minaj never publicly confirmed their relationship. Samuels was also the co-executive producer and A&R coordinator of Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded.

    The music portion of this year's South By Southwest Festival in Austin, Texas, will take place March 17 to 22, and today the festival has announced its initial lineup. Some of the bigger names in the lineup include Jessie Ware, Thee Oh Sees, Courtney Barnett, The Pop Group, The Dodos, The Church and Bishop Nehru. You can check out the complete list over at the SXSW website. The interactive and film festival portions of SXSW 2015 begin March 13, a few days earlier than the music portion.

    This week's Billboard 200 Top 10 was chock full of new albums but the main story has to be country music's recent success. This week marks the third in a row where the genre has placed a new album atop the charts. Florida Georgia Line was this week's representative as Anything Goes sold 197,000 copies.

    After years of offering up programming like "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo," TLC has decided to try a new approach to the reality television game. It was announced Tuesday, Oct. 21, that the network will be teaming up with Mark Burnett and Roma Downey for a spiritual, unscripted drama that focuses on real people who believe their prayers were answered in a miraculous way.

    The battle rounds for The Voice season seven finally came to a close last night (Oct. 21) with three of the more solid performances seen this year.     While the NFL might not be exactly sure of what to do with players who are involved in domestic violence incidents, at least other sports organizations are watching closely at the fallout and then changing their own guidelines. WWE executive Stephanie McMahon has announced that her organization now has a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to issues of abuse or domestic violence.
