According to Glamour Magazine, Cyrus' first outfit was a custom John Galliano for Maison Margiela couture dress. The first ensemble was unique as it showed most of her skin and it was completely made of metal safety pins and beads. The look was completed with a pair of yellow Margiela Tabis.

Later that night, the musician wore something more comfortable, a high-neck halter-top black sequined jumpsuit. This is the one she wore when she received her first-ever Grammy for Best Pop Solo Performance. As of this writing, the designer has not been revealed.
