88rising will hold its first-ever Moonrise Gala that aims to honor the success and talent of Asian people in the music industry and for their inaugural event, they will award some of the most talented ones from different genres; find out more information about the event below.
According to Billboard, the media and music company will honor icons like Jackson Wang, who has been applauded for his contribution in music, entrepreneurship, and fashion, NIKI, an Indosnesian singer-songwriter, and Jocelyn Enriquez, a Filipino-American known in the 90s for her dance-pop songs.
Aside from the three musicians mentioned above, the upcoming gala will also honor Skratch Piklz, known for their turntable skills, and Destin Daniel Cretton, an American filmmaker popularly known for his work like "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings."

Why Did 88rising Decide to Hold Moonrise Gala?
In a press release, founder and CEO Sean Miyashiro revealed that that their company began as a vision and a safe space for Asian creatives as there were no representation before its conception.
"88rising started as a vision, an attempt to build a home on the internet for Asian creatives because there was nothing out there at the time," he said.

He then explained the reason why the company decide to hold the event, saying, "With 88rising's inaugural Moonrise Gala, we continue to ride on the momentum we've built over the years."
What to Expect From 88rising Moonrise Gala?
The outlet noted that the event will take place at the Milk Studios in Los Angeles, California, on February 17, 2024.
Aside from giving awards to the honorees mentioned above, the event will also feature performances from 88rising artists in the form of their Head in the Clouds festival, which was previously held in Jakarta, Manila, New York, and more.
For the awardees, they weill receive the Moonrise Medale created by New York City-based jewelry line Anna Kikue and its design will heavily-feature the celebration of the Lunar New Year.
Organizers for the event wanted the medals to symbolize the brand of 88rising and "functioning as both a family crest and a living legacy for prosperity."
The event will start at 6 p.m. with a full red carpet event. Visuals will be developed by K2 world.
As of this writing, their website has yet to share more information, but it was indicated that they're partnering with Johnny Walker Blue Label and Lexus for the event.
