Toby Keith was a legendary country musician who contributed a lot in the music industry, that's why many artists and fans celebrated his life when the news broke out about his passing. More recently, one of his lasts interview reveal something about his thoughts on death.

According to Taste of Country, the singer appeared in an interview with News 9, which was filmed before he passed away on February 5, 2024.

During the conversation, the singer recalled that back when he was diagnosed with stomach cancer, he felt at ease about knowing that he might not survive his health issues.

"I finally got to a point in the spring - I was diagnosed in October of '21, and I was going through all the chemo, first time I'd been through chemo and radiation, surgery... I got to the point where I was comfortable with whatever happened. I had my brain wrapped around it, and I was in a good spot either way," he said.

Later in the interview, the musician revealed that having cancer is like being on a roller coaster because it's unpredicctable and when he sit there, he would just "wait on it to go away" and there's a possibility that it may never go away.

"Even if it goes in remission, it'll still be in the back of your mind. You're still gonna have to do scans and stuff," he said.

Keith further explained that the reason why he was so calm despite having the illness was because of his faith and his diagnosis was a reminder for him to never take his faith for granted.

Unfortunately, Toby Keith passed away on February 5, 2024. He was 62 years old. The news of his death was confirmed by his family through his social media accounts.

"Toby Keith passed peacefully last night... He fought his fight with grace and courage. Please respect the privacy of his family at this time," the statement reads.

He revealed his diagnosis to fans back in 2022. At the time, Keith took a break to recover from his condition and he promised that he will return to the stage as long as he was okay.

Since then the singer was able to perform again with a few pop-up shows in Oklahoma and he even got the chance to perform on television after receiving the Icon Award at the People's Choice Country Awards.

In addition, he performed at three shows in Las Vegas which are all sold out.
