Jennifer Lopez recently opened up on the reasons that delayed the rekindling of romance with Ben Affleck.

The couple, popularly known as the epitome of romance during the early 2000s, separated in 2004 following an unsuccessful engagement.

In 2021, they crossed paths once again which ultimately led them to another chance at love.

In an interview on "The Kyle And Jackie O Show," JLo shared their journey that spanned nearly twenty years, leading her towards self-discovery and ultimately reconnecting with a long-lost love - now husband.

Jennifer Lopez Breaks Silence

Jennifer Lopez revealed on the show, via Yahoo UK, "I fell in love with the love of my life [earlier in my life], and for whatever reasons... we needed to grow and do other things."

"We both went off and had children with other people and other relationships but, you know, in mind I kind of had it like, 'Oh, that was kind of the one" and so when we got back together.'"

The "Hustlers" star further said, "I couldn't believe it, and I don't think he could either. It's not something we ever planned. We really had moved on with our lives, but when we reconnected, it was almost instant, and we just knew."

In her account, Jennifer Lopez delved into the intricacies of her transformative journey from one relationship to another, highlighting the profound impact that having children had on her personal growth.

Blended Families

Jennifer Lopez reflected on the journey she had went through on since the birth of her twins Max and Emme, 16, with her former partner Marc Anthony.

Meanwhile, Ben also cherishes his role as a parent with the three kids she shared with his ex-wife. These years of fatherhood have been shaped by his decade-long marriage to Jennifer Garner, which came to an end in 2018.

On the other hand, the "All I Have" hitmaker embarked on a personal journey during her relationship with Marc.

Her focus was on self-discovery and personal growth.

"Then when I got divorced, it kind of kick-started another phase of me trying to figure out myself and relationships and things like that," JLo explained.

After going through a painful divorce, JLo found herself in a series of unsuccessful relationships, leading her to choose the path of being single.

"I was like, 'I'm good on my own, I'm fine, I love my life.' And when you get to that place, I think that's when the universe kind of opened up to me and was like, 'OK now you're ready.'"
