Who would have thought Taylor Swift could ever be compared to a zombie show?

'The Walking Dead' is Back

As the newest chapter of the adored universe comes to life on AMC, Scott Gimple, Chief Content Officer of "The Walking Dead" franchise and showrunner of the series' spinoff "The Ones Who Live," is looking to Taylor Swift for a little inspiration.

The day after the debut of the new season, which will reveal Rick Grimes' and his wife Michonne's location, the creative discussed the superstar's fast-paced career as evidence that it's never too late to start new media or welcome new followers.

The interview was published on NPR.

It is nearly 14 years since "The Walking Dead" debuted on AMC on Halloween 2010, of course.

Some may ask if the remaining installments of the franchise are essentially dead men walking after it ran for 11 seasons and gave rise to several spinoffs, such as "Fear the Walking Dead," "The Walking Dead: Dead City," and "The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon."

Showrunner Draws Taylor Swift Comparison

However, as Gimple said, "things change" in this cyclical environment.

There was a short moment in the culture [where people reacted to] Taylor Swift," he said, noting how "they would roll their eyes and [say she's] singing about her ex-boyfriend again," until "people kind of understood what she was doing."

Naturally, Swift made a very visible transition from being the face of mass cancellations to becoming one of the most viewed artists of the year.

Gimple said that while fans of the franchise aren't exactly "rolling their eyes at" it, "things go in cycles" when a program or artist has been around for as long as Taylor Swift.

He's not that wrong.

Since she was sixteen years old, Taylor Swift has been releasing songs. She's built an empire now.

She became a millionaire, started the Eras Tour, one of the most successful concert tours in music history, and was awarded Time's "Person of the Year" all in the same year.

Taylor has been redefining her public persona since the beginning of her career, starting with her debut album.

Throughout her eighteen-year career, Swift has experimented with a wide range of styles, going from country darling to pop icon to indie folk singer.

Launched after her highly publicized breakup with Harry Styles, "1989" served as beginning of Swift's transition from country singer to pop music superstar. In fact, was billed as her "first documented, official pop album."
