The film industry has been really into biopics in the past few years. With "Bohemian Rhapsody" hitting the box office, many studios have been trying to think of which other musical icons would be interesting to tell.

Rock and metal icon Ozzy Osbourne threw himself into the mix when he and his controversial family announced a biopic in the works as early as 2020. Now, when casting for the Ozzy Osbourne biopic has been talked about, a particular artist has emerged,

Ozzy Osbourne Biopic Casting

Talking to The Osbournes Podcast with Jack, Sharon, Ozzy, and Kelly, the family discussed which artists they feel would best portray them.

"I know who I want to play Mom," Kelly said. "I think Florence Pugh would do a fantastic [job.]" Sharon agreed with the idea but also suggested "Game of Thrones" actress Maisie Williams.

Jack then suggested he wanted "SNL" comedian Bill Hader to portray his father, the Prince of Darkness.

"Bill Hader. Everyone thinks I'm f-kin' crazy until I show a side-by-side picture and that guy's ability to morph [into a character]," he added.

Sharon called the suggestion "brilliant," but Ozzy didn't even know who Hader was until Jack showed him a photo of him; Ozzy wasn't convinced at all, telling his son to "F-k off!"

"That's going to be the hardest thing, is that with an unknown actor, so much of dad is [being] physically being able to [act]," Jack noted before Sharon highlighted how Austin Butler masterfully portrayed the late Elvis Presley in Elvis.

Ozzy seemed to have been pessimistic about the film, jokingly saying that he would have been dead before the film would be finished, referencing his wide range of physical ailments.

Fans React To Bill Hader Ozzy Osbourne Casting Suggestion

On social media, fans were on the fence about the casting suggestion.

"Why would it be bill lmao I love bill but that doesn't make any sense," a fan noted.

"he's a long time punk and metal fan, and a fan of sabbath. He's also pretty knowledgeable about the genres. His role as Barry has proven he can play the "unhinged" character pretty well. I think he's got some background for pulling it off," one defended.

"he definitely did good in Barry with the serious crazy guy role but I don't think that's the same vibe as ozzy and he doesn't look like him at all," another commented.

"They should get a real r---ded dude to play him," a user suggested.
